Review Notifications

The notifications list shows unread items, category filters, message text, relative time, and action controls. Clicking a notification marks it read and opens the linked record when the notification has a destination.

Work The List

  1. Open Notifications from the bell or direct route.
  2. Use Unread when you need a clean triage queue.
  3. Use category filters to focus on one workflow.
  4. Click a notification to open the related record when a link exists.
  5. Use the read control when the item does not need action.
  6. Dismiss noise that does not need to stay in your list.
  7. Use Mark all as read only when the remaining queue has been reviewed.
Do not clear unread items blindly Notifications can represent operational work, approval activity, fulfillment problems, or mentions from teammates. Review unread items before marking everything read.

Set Preferences

Preferences control how each notification type reaches you. Each category can expose email, in-app, and push choices depending on the notification type.

Channel Meaning

  • Email: sends the notification to your email address when enabled for that type.
  • In-app: keeps the notification visible inside Arcus.
  • Push: sends push-style alerts when supported by the environment and browser.
Preferences are per user Changing your notification preferences affects your account. It does not change what another user receives, and it does not replace organization-level email or workflow rules.

Common Problems

  • I do not receive a notification: check preferences, role permissions, entity membership, and whether the event applies to your user.
  • A notification opens the wrong place: use the category and message text to find the related record manually, then report the link issue.
  • Email is missing: review Email Log when the event should have sent an email copy.
  • Too many notifications: keep in-app enabled for audit visibility, but tune email or push for high-value types only.
Keep mentions visible Mentions are usually direct team requests. Avoid disabling in-app mention notifications unless another workflow is replacing them.
