Use the Addresses page when you need to keep the seller’s copy of your shipping and billing addresses current: a new warehouse, a moved office, or a different default ship-to for future orders. Where: Customer Portal > Addresses

Before You Start

  • Sign in to the customer portal with the email and account number the seller gave you. There is no separate permission for this page: every signed-in portal user on the account can open it and change the account’s addresses.
  • The addresses you see belong to your customer account, not to your personal login. Anyone else who signs in to the same account sees the same list.

Open The Addresses Page

  1. Sign in to the customer portal.
  2. Select Addresses in the portal navigation.
The page is titled Addresses with the line “Manage your shipping and billing addresses”. Each saved address is a card with a small map preview, its label, the recipient name, and the street, city, state, and ZIP.

Each address card shows its label, default tags, the Commercial or Residential tag, and the Edit, Set Shipping or Set Billing, and delete actions.

What The Tags On A Card Mean

Only one address on the account can be the default shipping address, and only one can be the default billing address. The same address can hold both.

Add An Address

  1. Select Add Address. When you have no saved addresses yet, the page shows No addresses yet with the line “Add your shipping and billing addresses” and its own Add Address button.
  2. In the Add Address dialog, choose a label: Shipping, Billing, Warehouse, or Other.
  3. Enter the Recipient Name if the package should go to a named person.
  4. Enter the street address, an optional Apt / Suite / Unit, the City, the State, and the ZIP. Address, City, State, and ZIP are required, and the Add Address button stays unavailable until all four are filled in.
  5. Select Add Address to save.

The Add Address dialog asks for a label, an optional recipient name, and the street address, city, state, and ZIP.

You see Address added, and the new card appears in the list.
Make a new address your default after you add it The dialog also shows Default shipping and Default billing checkboxes. When you are adding a new address, use Set Shipping or Set Billing on its card after it saves, then confirm the tag appears on the card. That is the reliable way to make it your default.

Edit An Address

  1. Select Edit on the card.
  2. Change the label, recipient name, or address fields in the Edit Address dialog.
  3. Select Save Changes.
You see Address updated. When editing, the Default shipping and Default billing checkboxes do apply: checking one makes this address the default, and clearing one removes the default from it.

Choose Your Default Addresses

  • Set Shipping makes the address your default shipping address. The button shows only on cards that are not already the default shipping address.
  • Set Billing makes the address your default billing address. The button shows only on cards that are not already the default billing address.
You see Default address updated. The tag moves to the card you picked, and the previous default loses it.

Delete An Address

  1. Select the trash icon on the card.
  2. The Delete this address? dialog names the street line and says it “will be permanently deleted”.
  3. Select Delete Address to confirm, or Cancel to keep it.
You see Address deleted, and the card leaves the list. A deleted address cannot be restored from the portal. Add it again if you need it back. An address that is already used on any order cannot be deleted. The card stays in the list, and the portal shows “The request references a record that does not exist or is no longer available.” Keep the address. If you want a different default, select Set Shipping or Set Billing on another address instead.

What Happens When You Save

  • The seller sees the change right away. Staff working on your account see the new, edited, or deleted address without refreshing, and future orders offer your current defaults.
  • Existing orders and invoices follow your saved address. An order or invoice points at the saved address rather than keeping its own copy. Editing a saved address changes the ship-to or bill-to on every existing order and invoice that uses it, including orders that have not shipped yet. To send one order somewhere else, ask the seller to change that order instead of editing the saved address.
  • Every change is recorded. The seller’s activity history notes that a portal customer added, updated, or deleted an address, and when.

Common Scenarios

The address on an order is wrong

Orders and invoices point at your saved address rather than keeping their own copy, so editing a saved address changes the ship-to or bill-to on every existing order and invoice that uses it, including orders that have not shipped yet. To send one order to a different address, do not edit the saved address. Contact the seller and ask them to change that order before it ships.

A card shows Residential for a business address

The Commercial or Residential tag is set by the seller’s address check, not by a field you can edit in the portal. Ask the seller to correct it if a business address is tagged Residential, because it can change shipping rates.

Someone else on the account changed an address

Every portal login on the account shares one address list. Check with the other people who sign in for your company before you delete or replace an address.
