Tune PackPilot

Review:
  • Auto-suggest cartons: creates package suggestions when orders become ready to pack.
  • Base per box: influences whether fewer or more cartons are preferred.
  • Base per pound: influences weight-based scoring.
  • Oversize penalty: discourages package choices above the oversize threshold.
  • DIM weight factor: estimates dimensional-weight impact for package scoring.
  • Epsilon: controls small tolerance differences during fit calculations.
  • Packing presets: saved configurations that can be tested and marked default.

Product Data Still Matters

PackPilot can only suggest good packages when product setup is accurate. Review:
  • Product dimensions and weight.
  • Box products.
  • Packing categories.
  • Allowed or blocked product mixing.
  • Serial requirements.
  • Freight flags.
  • Available inventory and bin data.

Common Blocks

  • No suggestion appears: check product dimensions, weight, stock, serial rules, freight mode, and the auto-suggest toggle.
  • Too many boxes are suggested: review base per box, product dimensions, and allowed mixing.
  • Oversized box is chosen: review oversize threshold and penalty.
  • Carrier rate differs from packing estimate: Shippo and carriers may apply their own dimensional-weight rules.
  • Preset did not apply: confirm it is active and default where expected.
