Shipments is a tracking workspace for packages that already have tracking numbers. Rate Preview is a quote-only tool. It does not buy labels, validate final customs data, or fulfill packages.

Use Shipments

Open Shipments when you need to find packages that already have tracking.
  1. Search by tracking number, order, customer, or package details.
  2. Filter by carrier, shipment status, delivery status, or date when needed.
  3. Open the shipment drawer.
  4. Review package contents, tracking events, and related records.
  5. Copy the tracking number or open the carrier tracking page when available.
  6. Print the label PDF when the label file is available.

What Shows In Shipments

A package appears in Shipments after it has tracking data. The drawer can show:
  • Tracking number
  • Carrier and service
  • Delivery status
  • Package contents
  • Tracking events from the carrier
  • Related order, invoice, customer, and return records when available
  • Label PDF link when the label is available
Shipments is for tracking and review. Use package or order fulfillment pages to buy labels, void labels, change package contents, or mark packages fulfilled.

Preview Rates From An Order

Use order mode when a CSR needs a shipping estimate for an existing order.
  1. Open Rate Preview.
  2. Choose From order.
  3. Paste the order UUID.
  4. Preview rates.
  5. Review estimated carrier, service, transit, and amount.
If the order already has packages, preview uses those packages. If the order has no package data yet, Arcus estimates package dimensions and weight from the order items.

Preview Rates From Raw Details

Use raw mode for phone quotes, early estimates, or a shipment that is not ready for package work.
  1. Choose Raw destination and parcel.
  2. Enter destination address fields.
  3. Enter one or more parcel dimensions and weights.
  4. Preview rates.
  5. Use the result as an estimate only.

Understand Quote-Only Results

Rate Preview has no fulfillment side effects:
  • It does not purchase a label.
  • It does not create tracking.
  • It does not fulfill a package.
  • It does not print a label.
  • It does not reserve a carrier rate for the warehouse.
Final label purchase can still be blocked later by missing package data, address validation, ship-from setup, shipping rules, carrier availability, or international customs fields.

Common Blocks

  • No shipments show: Shipments only shows packages with tracking numbers. Complete label and fulfillment work first.
  • Tracking events are empty: the carrier may not have scanned the package yet.
  • Print label is missing: the package may not have a label PDF available.
  • Order preview cannot find the order: confirm the order UUID and active entity.
  • Raw preview fails: complete destination fields and every parcel dimension and weight.
  • Preview worked but label purchase failed: use the package workflow to resolve address validation, customs, package, or shipping rule requirements.
