When To Use This Report
Use this report when orders are unexpectedly routed to freight, when freight orders are being missed, or when you need to tune shipping rules after reviewing real order outcomes.
Use Filters
- Date range: limit the audit to a period of order activity.
- Mode: review all orders, parcel-only orders, or freight-only orders.
- Rule: focus on orders affected by a specific freight-producing rule.
- Override: find manual freight or parcel overrides.
Read The Row
- Mode: the resulting parcel or freight classification.
- Rule: the shipping rule or reason that drove the decision.
- Customer: the account on the order.
- Weight and pallet signals: measurements that may have influenced freight routing.
- Override reason: manual change explanation when a user overrode the system decision.
- Freight class: the effective class used for freight decisioning when available.
- Shipping total and order total: money context for reviewing freight behavior.
Improve Rules From The Audit
- Filter to unexpected parcel or freight outcomes.
- Identify which rule fired, or whether no freight rule fired.
- Compare weight, dimensions, pallet count, customer, and item mix.
- Adjust shipping rules, product dimensions, box data, or freight thresholds as needed.
- Refresh the report after new orders are evaluated.
- Export CSV when you need offline review or a rule-change discussion.
What Creates Freight Exceptions
- Product dimensions missing: the system cannot trust parcel fit when item size is unknown.
- Weight over threshold: total package or order weight crosses freight rules.
- Pallet requirement: product, order, customer, or rule setup requires pallet handling.
- Manual override: a user chose parcel or freight against the normal rule result.
- Address or service limitation: carrier, freight, or local delivery rules may constrain available services.
- Rule priority: a higher-priority shipping rule can win before a lower-priority rule is considered.
Operator Resolution
- Open the order from the audit row.
- Review product dimensions, weight, package fit, pallet signals, shipping method, and address.
- Decide whether the order should stay parcel, become freight, or use a manual override.
- Update product or shipping-rule setup when the same exception repeats.
- Add a clear override reason when a one-off manual decision is correct.
- Refresh the audit report after new orders are evaluated.
Classification depends on setup data
Product dimensions, package data, location shipping setup, and shipping rules can all
affect parcel-vs-freight classification. Fix missing setup data before blaming the rule.
Common Problems
- Too many freight orders: review force-freight rules, pallet thresholds, product dimensions, and override history.
- Freight orders are missed: look for missing dimensions, inactive rules, wrong priority, or incomplete pallet setup.
- Rule filter is empty: only freight-producing rules appear in the rule selector.
- Export is disabled: load data first, then export the current result set.
