# Fulfillment Station

> Use the fulfillment station to work package queues, choose printers, filter pickup work, print labels, and mark packages fulfilled.

<Note>
  The fulfillment station is the operator workspace for day-to-day package work. It combines the pick list, package queue, printer controls, selected package detail, and fulfillment action in one place.
</Note>

## Before You Start

Confirm these items before operators begin:

* The active entity and location are correct.
* The user has fulfillment access for the location.
* The right label and document printers are selected.
* Shippo is connected when packages need parcel labels.
* Packages are packed, rated, labeled, or ready for the next station step.

</Frame>

## Work The Queue

1. Open the fulfillment station.
2. Confirm the active location.
3. Search by package, order, customer, or tracking details when needed.
4. Use card or list view depending on the queue density.
5. Use the pickup filter when you only want local pickup work.
6. Select a package and review the package detail.
7. Complete the next required action for that package.

The station queue is location scoped. If a package is missing, check the active location first, then confirm the package still needs fulfillment.

## Use Printer Controls

The printer picker separates label printers from document printers. Operators should select the printer that matches the media in the printer.

* Use a label printer for shipping labels.
* Use a document printer for packing slips and packet documents.
* If the selected printer has product categories assigned, the package queue can narrow to packages that match those categories.
* If the selected printer is offline, Arcus blocks the PrintNode job and leaves the label available for retry or PDF fallback.

## Print From The Station

Use station printing only after the selected package has the document you want.

1. Select the package.
2. Confirm the label or document exists.
3. Choose the right printer.
4. Print the label, packing slip, or packet.
5. If printing fails, use the PDF fallback or reprint after the printer is online.

<Tip>
  The station Print Label action needs an active package with a purchased label and a selected label printer. If either is missing, open the package detail or use PDF fallback from the package card.
</Tip>

## Print All

Use **Print All** when a filtered set of packages needs batch paperwork. Confirm the filter first so the packet includes the intended packages.

Print All can include labels, packing slips, or both depending on the station action. Arcus opens the merged packet so operators can print it. If the merged packet is not available, print packages one at a time and review the missing labels.

## Review Package Detail

Use package detail as the final checkpoint before marking fulfilled.

1. Confirm the order and customer.
2. Confirm the package contents and quantities.
3. Confirm the label state.
4. Confirm the tracking number when a parcel label exists.
5. Mark fulfilled only when the physical package is ready.

## Use History

The station history view helps supervisors review recently fulfilled packages. Use it when an operator needs to confirm a package was already completed or when a shipment has left the active queue.

## Side Effects

Station actions can change operational records:

* Marking fulfilled moves the package out of the active fulfillment queue.
* Printing through PrintNode creates a print job record.
* Failed printer submissions can create a blocked offline print job entry.
* Buying, voiding, or reprinting labels changes package label state in the package detail.

## Common Blocks

* **Package is missing**: check active location, queue filters, pickup filter, and whether the package is already fulfilled.
* **Printer list is empty**: confirm PrintNode is connected and the desktop client has reported printers.
* **Printer is offline**: start the printer and PrintNode client, then retry. Use PDF fallback if the package must move now.
* **Print Label is disabled or warns**: select a package with an active label and choose a label printer.
* **No shipping label warning**: buy a label before fulfilling a shipped package.
* **Mark fulfilled fails**: resolve missing serial numbers, ship-complete blocks, or label readiness before retrying.
