# Approve a Quote From an Email Link
> Approve a quote from the link in the seller's quote email, without signing in: review the quote, add your name, approve it, and what happens when it becomes a sales order.
Use the quote approval link when the seller emails you a quote and you are ready to go ahead. The page shows the quote and lets you approve it in one step. Approving turns the quote into a sales order. You do not need a portal login.
**Where:** Customer Portal > Email links > Accept a quote
## Before You Start
* The link covers one quote only.
* Only an open quote can be approved. An expired quote, or one that was already approved, cannot be approved again.
* Approving is binding in the same way as placing the order. If you want changes, contact the seller first.
## Approve The Quote
1. Open the approval link from the quote email. The page shows the seller's name and branding.
2. Review the header: **Quote** with the quote number and date.
3. Review the figures: **Subtotal**, **Discount**, **Shipping**, **Tax**, and **Total**.
4. Review **Ship To** and **Items**, including each item's part number or SKU, quantity, and price.
5. Under **Ready to approve?**, read "Approving this quote will convert it into a sales order and notify the seller."
6. Optionally enter **Your name (optional)** and **Email (optional)** so the seller knows who approved it.
7. Select **Approve This Quote**.
## When The Approval Succeeds
The page shows **Quote Approved** with "Thank you. Your quote" and its number "has been converted into Sales Order" and the new sales order number.
* **The quote becomes a sales order.** The seller's system creates the sales order from the quote through the same conversion staff use, so the quoted items, quantities, and prices carry over to the order.
* **The quote is marked approved**, and the link now shows it as approved rather than offering the button again.
* **The approval is recorded** in the seller's activity history with the name and email you entered.
* **The seller continues from the sales order**: fulfillment, invoicing, and payment follow their normal process.
## Quote States
| What you see | What it means |

| **This quote has already been approved.** with "This quote was approved on" a date, and **View original quote** | Someone already approved it. **View original quote** opens the quote's read-only view. |
| **This quote has expired. Please contact the seller for an updated quote.** | The quote's expiration date has passed. The seller can send an updated quote. |
| **This link is not a quote.** | The link points to an order or invoice, not a quote. |
## Messages You Might See

| **Unable to approve quote.** or **Could not approve quote.** | The conversion did not complete. | Try again. If it keeps failing, contact the seller. |
| **Too many requests. Please slow down.** | The link was opened many times in a few minutes. | Wait five minutes and reload. |
## Common Scenarios
### You want changes before approving
Do not approve. Reply to the quote email or contact the seller, as the page suggests: "Need to make changes? Reply to the email or contact the seller below."
### Two people at your company approve the same quote
Only the first approval converts the quote. The second person sees that it was already approved.
### You want to see all your quotes
Sign in to the customer portal and open **Quotes**.
